O Fórum Progressista dos Partidos Políticos foi realizado e pautou um dos grande e necessários debates da esquerda
Em 27 e 28 de outubro, mais de 100 líderes e ativistas partidários, representantes de movimentos sociais e feministas de toda a América Latina e do Caribe se reuniram a convite da Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung para uma nova edição do Fórum Progressista dos Partidos Políticos. Foi percorrido o caminho da imaginação política com uma profunda reflexão sobre o futuro da esquerda no mundo.
O crescimento das expressões políticas de direita, tanto a nível regional como internacional, tem sido foco de preocupação. Estão surgindo partidos que defendem discursos violentos contra os direitos humanos, pilares básicos da comunidade internacional, promovidos globalmente pela esquerda. Medo, ódio e ressentimento são elementos centrais dos discursos ultraliberais e de extrema direita.
Esse fenômeno abre diferentes questões sobre o cenário político atual: quais são os horizontes sobre os quais a esquerda latino-americana deve avançar?
O Fórum também foi um espaço para perguntar sobre o papel dos partidos políticos de esquerda, além dos governos: as utopias continuam a ser pensadas por quem e desde onde? Quem são as pessoas que tensionam os discursos do possível? Os partidos são estruturas que permitem a organização e o surgimento de ideias? Como os partidos políticos promovem a participação política? Procuramos aprofundar os principais acordos necessários para avançar na construção de ideias da esquerda. Quais são os desafios intergeracionais a mudança de época impõe? Como esses debates interpelam as lideranças? Caminhamos com o feminismo, o ambientalismo, os sindicatos, os movimentos indígenas e as lutas antirracistas?
Em 28 de outubro, o evento central do Fórum Progressivo dos Partidos Políticos 2021 foi aberto ao público, com a participação de Manoela D'Ávila (jornalista e política brasileira), José Mujica (ex-presidente do Uruguai), Beatriz Sánchez (jornalista e política chilena), Pablo Stefanoni (chefe de redação da revista NUSO), com mediação da jornalista Denise Mota.
